When I travel abroad and return back to Texas, I am slapped in the face by the following three things:
1. The heat/humidity
2. The amount of obesity
3. The amount of trucks/SUV's
Dad picked me up after an epic day of traveling. As per usual, when I flew through London Heathrow I literally had to sprint with full force to make my connecting flight. For some reason I did not sleep on the 10 hour flight, so when I arrived to Houston I was pretty beat. I landed in Houston at 4:00pm and I knew I had to stay up until 10:00pm or so in order to avoid jet lag. Luckily, Dad had a company party that evening. When I got home I threw my bags in my room, put my cowboy boots on and headed to the party.
It was such a highlight to see my dad in his world - in his element! I am not sure who was walking around with more pride that night - myself or my dad. When he would introduce me to others Dad tried to squeeze in some bragging comments about what I had been up to. Many interrupted (rightly so!) him in order to win control of the conversation in order to tell me what an amazing man he is how much they love him. I could not argue with anyone of them. In fact, I did everything I could to make sure they knew that I too think he is a pretty unbelievable man and a superb father that would do just about anything for me. I am one lucky girl!
I did also have tons of fun dancing and eating some Texas crawfish! I even convinced dad to get his dance on as well. I arrived home that night at 11:00pm and not two seconds past between when my head hit the pillow and when I fell into a deep sleep.
I had a wonderful Saturday with Dad! We went shopping at REI (our favorite store), I went to a meeting (Dad took a long nap since he stayed up unusually late that night) and then we went on an enjoyable bike ride. The weather at the moment in Houston is actually brilliantly perfect!

Brook, I agree with you and everyone else too! Your dad is AMAZING!
